FAQs
How much is the postage?
Click HERE to view the carriage charges page. Certain areas cost more when sent by couriers, particularly the Scottish Highlands. We ourselves do not profit from the increased cost. Don't forget that our carriage charges include 20% VAT, the cost of the box and courier charges.
Who will deliver my order?
Most orders are shipped using Royal Mail and DPD, who will email and/or text you with delivery information. You can also reply to these messages to change the delivery day, nominate a neighbour to receive your goods, suggest a safe place to leave the parcel (at your own risk if you choose this option) or arrange to collect from a local 'Pick-up-Shop'.
PLEASE NOTE: If you decide to collect your parcel from a Pick-up-Shop, you will need I.D. and, for DPD parcels, your DPD pick-up pass: A unique QR code that you can receive via email or text message
How is my order packaged?
All orders are packed in boxes. Over 85% of our boxes are good quality recycled boxes which we source locally.
Do you need a signature for delivery?
We use a selection of couriers and most do not require a signature but you may need to in some instances.
When will my order be dispatched?
All orders received before midday Monday - Friday (excluding Bank Holidays) are usually dispatched the same day or the next working day.
How do I earn Rainbow Rewards?

What are Rainbow Trugs made of?
Rainbow Trugs are made from a Food Grade LDPE which makes them strong and flexible. All colourants are Food Approved to EU and FDA standard*. Our products are 100% free from harmful phthalates which some manufacturers use to increase the flexibility of their products. We always however recommend washing your new trug in soapy water before use.
Are Rainbow Trugs really Made In Britain?
Oh Yes. We are very proud to say that they are Made in Britain unlike some other leading Brands.
Are they UV Stable?
Yes they are UV Stable and they will not fade or crack when exposed to sunlight.
Why should I buy Rainbow Trugs rather than other makes?
Rainbow Trugs are very good quality and they have the thickest side wall on the market which makes them much more versatile than just using them for garden rubbish, i.e. Plant containers, ice buckets as they are less likely to split when heavy weight is added to them unlike other leading Brands. We have also developed a larger range of colours and sizes available than any other manufacturer. If you want quality - buy Rainbow Trugs!
What sizes are available?
They are available in 5 sizes (2.2L, 14L, 25L, 30L and 45L ) click HERE to view the dimensions
All dimensions given are to the rim. Handles will add to the height and width.
Will your Trug-Lid's™ fit other makes of trug?
No, we designed Trug-Lid™ to fit our Rainbow Trug Branded containers.
How do Trug-Lids™ fit?
Our unique Trug-Lids™ simply fit on and inside the rim of the trug to ensure the trug is kept perfectly round. Fitting and removing is simple with no clips or fasteners. Tuck the Trug-Lid™ into one of the handles and lower it into place.
Do you have any special offers?
Any offers we have from time to time are displayed on our offers page click HERE or on our social media pages such as Facebook. Our social media links are at the bottom of this page.
Do you sell them in packs?
We do occasionally offer some packs of clearance items at discounted prices. However, because we regularly offer a discount for buying larger quantities, you can benefit from lower prices on what YOU want to buy, rather than having to buy the colours or sizes that a pack would stipulate.
Can you carry with the handles together?
Yes with the 2.2L, 14L, 30L & 45L Rainbow Trugs, the handles can be held together and carried like a bag. The 25L shallow trugs are thicker and stiffer for heavier duty applications, with thicker sidewall/base and are not recommended to hold both handles in one hand. Trugs are designed to be carried using two hands or one hand if the handles are together. Carrying a loaded trug by one handle may shorten its life.
What size should I buy for feeding my horse?
Our 14L trug is the most popular size for horse feed. Occasionally some horse owners do use our 25L trug for feeding horses but this is not a popular choice. Please see our dimensions page before making your choice.
Tell me more about Rainbow Trug Stickers?
We make a range of stickers to decorate your Rainbow Trug and even bring them to life! Made in the UK from a quality vinyl material, these stickers have been developed to stick securely to the food grade polymer our Rainbow Trugs are made from. They will however peel off cleanly if required. With a new Rainbow Trug, simply wipe the area with a dry cloth and apply the sticker. To brighten a well used Rainbow Trug we suggest you wash the area with soapy water then dry thoroughly to give the sticker a good surface to adhere to. If you are thinking of using our fabulous stickers to brighten another manufacturers trug/bucket, we cannot guarantee they will stick securely.
Can Rainbow Trugs be used as plant containers?
Yes, they are the perfect solution for growing plants especially vegetables as they are very sturdy and have the strongest and thickest side wall as they do not split when heavy weight is added to them unlike other leading Brands.
Can I use them to put food in?
Rainbow Trugs are manufactured in the UK from a Food Grade LDPE Polymer and coloured with a Food Approved Colourant to EU and FDA standards*. Food grade containers are food safe and suitable for storing ingredients, raw produce, groceries, bakery and other catering products. We always recommend washing your new trug in soapy water before use.
I'm confused, 'What is a Trug?'
We call them Trugs but admit that lots of people call them different names like bucket, tub, bin or even a trig. There are also those who say that only Sussex Trugs, with their single handle can be called Trugs. We simply describe our Rainbow Trugs as flexible trugs and accept that other terms such as flexi-tub, trugg with a double 'g', plastic pot or feed bowl will be used.
Trugs are truly multipurpose but 'What should I not do with a Trug?'
The list of things you can do with a Rainbow Trug is long but there are also a few things you should not do and most people would not. Here are some examples:
- Storing firewood or coal, yes but do not place your trug too close to the fire!
- If you are too short to reach, do not turn your trug upside down use it as a step!
- Do not fill to the brim with concrete. Only fill the trug enough so that you can safely carry it!
- All our trugs are made from a Food Grade material but letting your horse chew and stamp on it will shorten the trugs life!
There are more that we have heard about but hopefully you get the idea.
I have broken one of my Trugs. Is it covered by your warranty?
Rainbow Trugs are made to a very high standard and are durable for many uses both domestic and commercial. Our warranty covers failure due to manufacturing faults or molding flaws. Our warranty does not cover physical damage caused during use. Such examples may include, but are not restricted to, cuts caused by carrying sharp objects, chewing by animals, trampled by horses or llamas, melting etc.
